About you
Exciting opportunities are available for qualified Interventional Radiologists (Senior Medical Officers) who want to make a positive impact while working in a dynamic, multidisciplinary, and supportive team.
Our Interventional Radiologists manage patient care from diagnosis to recovery, with opportunities to work with advanced procedures, including endovascular, oncology, and transplant-related interventions.
Responsibilities may vary by position and could include some or all of the following:
- Peripheral vascular interventions
- Biliary drainage and embolisation
- Nephrostomy tube insertion
- Trauma embolisation
- Tunnelled IV access and fistula interventions
- EVAR/TEVAR procedures (opportunity to be involved if desired)
- Interventional oncology procedures, including trans-arterial embolisation and image-guided ablation such as RFA, MWA, Cryoablation, and IRE
There are opportunities for Radiologists with general and/or subspecialty areas of interest in Interventional Radiology to join our teams and contribute to caring for our people.
Interventional Radiology subspecialties include the following:

About you
To work as an Interventional Radiologist (Senior Medical Officer) in New Zealand, you must become registered to practice with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Practitioners must meet competency standards and hold Annual Practising Certificates (APCs) to work safely and effectively. Salary:
- The average salary package for Radiologists in New Zealand is NZD $343,500 (AUD ~$281,937)
- Packages are comprised of a base salary based on experience, plus allowances, and superannuation per the ASMS collective agreement
