- Staff Specialist (Radiation Oncology)
Description
Royal Hobart Hospital's Radiation Oncology Department is looking for a talented and committed Radiation Oncologist to join our growing team.
Ours is a collegial, high-performing department delivering the full spectrum of contemporary radiation oncology to a diverse patient population across Tasmania. We work within a strong multidisciplinary framework, maintain active research and teaching programs in partnership with the University of Tasmania, and take genuine pride in the quality of care we provide.
We are looking for a clinician who brings solid oncological experience, a collaborative spirit, and a desire to be part of something meaningful — both within the department and in the broader Tasmanian community. Subspecialty interests, clinical trial experience, and a passion for education are all highly regarded.
Who are we?
Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania’s largest hospital and major referral centre. As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH collaborates with the University of Tasmania and other institutions. All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.
We are a busy, friendly, and forward-thinking service at Tasmania's major tertiary referral centre, managing the full breadth of oncological presentations in a genuinely multidisciplinary environment. Our team is small enough that your contribution matters and large enough to offer peer support, subspecialty collaboration, and a thriving academic culture. We treat our patients well and we look after each other — and we are looking for someone who shares those values.
Ideal candidates will hold Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (or equivalent recognised qualification) and bring solid clinical experience across common tumour streams. Enthusiasm for teaching, a curiosity for research, and a desire to contribute to a department that punches above its weight are the qualities we value most. We are open to candidates at all career stages and are committed to making the transition to Tasmania as straightforward as possible.
