Medscan is committed to providing the best imaging service to patients and referrers through use of state of the equipment reported by subspecialty radiologists working in a collegiate non-corporate environment. Medscan is owned and run by the attending radiologists with no corporate influence or interference. Our technical and clerical staff are equally committed to our exceptional service standard.
Company History
Medscan began in Merrylands in June 2012. After working in hospital and private practice, Dr John O'Rourke decided he wanted to create an environment where he and all his staff could genuinely enjoy their work providing premium service on the latest equipment. So began, Medscan Merrylands- a 5.5 million investment in a comprehensive imaging facility. This included the best available CT- Siemens Flash, 1.5 T Siemens MRI, ultrasound Xray, OPG and a full nuclear medicine service. After several years of hard work and extremely limited holidays and family time, Medscan was ready for expansion.
In 2016, Dr O'Rourke and Dr James Black have opened 2 new practices in Double Bay and Barangaroo. These practices continue the theme of state of the art equipment - including the Southern Hemisphere's first Siemens Drive CT and a 3T Siemens Skyra MRI.
